  • ¾ cup milk

  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar (for filling)
  • 6 tbsp cinnamon (for filling)
  • 4 ½ tbsp salted butter (for icing)
  • ¾ cup sugar (for icing)
  • 1 cup plus 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream (for icing)
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract (for icing)
  • 4 ½ tsp corn syrup (for icing)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (for icing)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together brown sugar and unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in sour cream and milk until combined.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  5. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  6. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients without overmixing.
  7. Prepare the filling by mixing brown sugar and cinnamon with melted butter.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan, drizzle filling on top, and swirl it in.
  9. Bake for 23-25 minutes until golden brown; cool slightly before icing.
  10. To make icing, heat salted butter, sugar, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and corn syrup until thickened; stir in cream cheese and gradually mix in powdered sugar.
  11. Pour icing over cooled cake; let set before cutting into squares.
