  • 1 lb sirloin steak or tenderloin, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (for sauce)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (for sauce)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (for sauce)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (for sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil and butter. Once melted, sear steak cubes for 3-4 minutes until browned.
  2. Lower heat to medium and add minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir and simmer for another 1-2 minutes before removing from the skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt additional butter and sauté one more clove of minced garlic for about a minute. Add heavy cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper.
  4. Return steak bites to the skillet and coat them with the sauce.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
