  • 450g lean ground beef
  • 30g butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 230g brown mushrooms, minced
  • 30g ketchup
  • 240ml beef broth
  • 225g provolone cheese, chopped or shredded
  • 6 brioche hamburger buns (buttered and toasted)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-high heat pan, brown the ground beef without stirring for about one minute. Break it up after browning.
  2. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms until browned.
  3. Mix together beef broth, cornstarch, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a bowl; pour into the pan with vegetables and simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  4. Return browned beef to the pan; mix well.
  5. Turn off heat and stir in provolone cheese until melted.
