Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 pints cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup good olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 18 large basil leaves, julienned (plus extra for serving)
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 pound dried angel hair pasta
  • 1½ cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the halved cherry tomatoes, olive oil, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
  2. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add the angel hair pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  3. Add the drained pasta directly into the skillet with the tomato mixture and toss gently to combine. If needed, add reserved pasta water to reach desired sauce consistency.
  4. Stir in fresh basil just before serving and top with extra Parmesan cheese.
