Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6-ounce) salmon filets
  • ¼ cup white miso paste
  • ¼ cup mirin (or substitute with rice vinegar and sugar)
  • 3 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, mirin, honey, tamari soy sauce, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  2. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and place it in a glass dish. Reserve 2 tablespoons of marinade separately. Pour the remaining marinade over the salmon, ensuring it's well-coated. Marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Preheat your oven's top broiler. Line a quarter baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the marinated salmon filets on top.
  4. Broil for 7 to 9 minutes, watching closely until lightly charred and cooked through.
  5. Brush with reserved marinade before serving and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
