Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup ground beef or chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or chicken, minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped green onions, soy sauce, and sesame oil until well mixed.
  2. Place about one teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Wet the edges with water and fold into a triangle pocket, sealing tightly.
  3. In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a simmer over medium heat. Optionally add extra sliced green onions for added flavor.
  4. Carefully add the wontons to the simmering broth and cook for about 5 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  5. Ladle into bowls and garnish with additional green onions and cilantro if desired.
